Hi, my name is James. The idea of this site is to provide Melbournians and Victorians in general with a showcase of plants and the seasons in which they become available to be planted. Along with this I will strive to give you all the necessary information to assist you in getting the most out of your plants.
Because nearly all plants have their own planting and growing season, you will find that this site will be run on a seasonal basis. In other words, when it is time to plant tomatoes we will showcase a variety of tomatoes, where you can get them, the average prices you can expect to pay, along with detailed growing and maintenance information suitable for Melbourne and surrounding areas.
Many of you will know our store in Preston Market so much of the products showcased in this site can be found there. On the other hand, I am always happy to provide subscribers with information on any plants. Just post your comments and I will make a realistic attempt to provide necessary information right here in these pages.
As this site grows, I would also be keen to expand and develop new ideas suited to horticulture in our corner of Victoria. In this instance I welcome any comments, ideas, questions or anything plant related. Whether you want to know about fruit trees, citrus, flowering annuals and perennials, shrubs, screening plants, grapes, vegetable gardening or pest and disease control, we are always here to help. In fact, our only purpose for this site is to assist gardeners with getting the most out of their plants.
